Dealing with Demons Ch6
Chapter 6: The Plot Thickens
Baron Barakas Kallista knew King Rex very well. They were quite good friends in their youth, and had even gone through the trials together to become champions of their gods- his being Ominga the Keeper of Secrets, Lucien preferring Sadiron the Just. He had been there for his friend when Lucien's wife had died-and without giving him an heir- and had been one of the most honored guests when Lucien had been crowned after the death of his father even though he was one of the least of the nobles in attendance.
Lately, though, he had become convinced that Lucien Rex was not fit to be King of Dominall. Too often recent

Chapter5: The Fires Consume
Mikal was browsing a small shop in the eastern quarter of the city devoted to the arcane in the late afternoon. The shop was owned by a hedge wizard known as Wadt; barely able to light a candle with his power, he was quick to jump into the magickal world, setting up a shop catering to anyone in need of arcane implements, ritual components, and potion ingredients.
His wares, however, were not quite the quality Mikal had been looking for. He had been looking for a small vial of unicorn blood and the wings of a score of fairies that he needed to try a rather unpleasant divining spell. The shop, however, was sadly de

Mikal smiled as he walked down the street. Over the last week he had spent dozens of hours with the orb, and he was beginning to understand some of its power.
It was truly an ingenious artifact. It offered a little power, enhancing his fire magick, for example, to anyone who would carry it in an effort to entice them to dig deeper into its secrets. To delve any deeper into it, however, required the wielder to open him up to its influence. The more power was drawn from the orb, the more the orb tried to take control of the user. By the time anyone tried to use it for its true purpose they would likely b

Chapter 3: That Man- Who Is He?
None of the town guards noticed her, she was sure of that.
Katryn grinned, thinking about what an easy mark this city would be. Even trying to stick out from the crowd of people working their way past the town walls the guards had ignored her.
She had expected someone to comment on her outlandish appearance if nothing else. She was slender, like most elves, but she was also far younger and shorter than any elf wandering around on their own in the human city. Despite her small stature her appearance should have forced people to take notice of her. Her light brown hair was short, and was kept spiked up in seve
Strange.
Often it seems like I feel like I am an aberration, like my interests set me apart from most of society. Like the things that drive me also make me stand outside of society looking in.
As a male in his 20s I feel like society has certain expectations of me. Interest in sports, chasing girls (or guys if my preferences run that way) for casual sex, drinking, probably a decent interest in cars or something of that nature. I should, if not care, at least know things about cars, about various sports rules or teams, I should almost certainly not still be a virgin, I should go out partying. Home, or Something Close
All my life I've lived there
That dark and dreary town
Despite my time spent there
Its character yet remains
Shrouded and divided
Disdainful and aloof
Springdale is its name
Though perfect is hath not been
I may call it a home
As a home it has been
It gave me shelter from the storm
And my core it helped to form
Yet in this city I called home
I never did fit in
The fights and crime and anger
Held no appeal for me
Though it left me in peace
Never did it comfort me
I did not belong there
My heart yearned to fly
Where my heart belongs
Is still a mystery
But if home is where the heart is

Darkness is my comfort.
It protects me from my fears,
Hides me from them.
In the dark I can watch the light,
Without the light watching me.
The darkness understands me,
It does not judge me;
In the dark we all look the same.
It wards off those who fear the dark;
The ones that seek to harm me.
Darkness is my only ally,
In the war I fight alone;
The war in my head.

You know, I really hope I've bored you to tears with my uploads of my failed NaNoWriMo attempt. I know I've certainly been boring myself with posting it.
In any event, I figure I'll go ahead and post everything I've got written for it whenever the mood takes me, and I'll keep working on it as time and motivation permit. Eventually you unlucky folks might even get to read the completed thing. With any luck that'll be just enough to bore you into complete and total submission.
Sorry for the rather impressive delay between my two submissions. I wish I could say there was a very good reason for it, but in reality I just couldn't think of much of anything to write about, other than backgrounds for characters I'm creating for no good reason.
